August Update and Dinner

Until the last few days the weather has been cooler than last summer. We're roughly 8 days behind where we were last year, so we're looking at another late harvest. Good news is the later start ensured good weather at set and bloom, so the fruit looks great.

Vertical Testing Notes from Thanksgiving

Thanks to all who came out and visited us at ADEA Wine Company. We unveiled the 2006 Pinot Noir which was tasting qreat considering we bottled it a couple of months ago. And on Sunday we actually poured a vertical of our Pinot Noirs. Click here for a link to what we discovered tasting through all the wines.

2005 Twelve Pinot Noir 144 rated 90 pts by the Burghound

Our 2005 reserve bottling was reviewed by Allen Meadows in the latest edition of the famous Burghound newsletter. Allen is a renowned authority on Burgundy and all things Pinot.

Harvest Visitors

Two Bostonians, Kimberly and Grady, showed up right smack in the middle of crush and had the unique opportunity to taste wines in every possible state: macerating juice, midway throught fermentation, just fermented, and last year's vintage reserve blends in barrel. They even got to chew on the skins from the press. That's Kimberly watching the press getting emptied below along with Mac, one of the local puppies. Grady took the picture and I added one of their interesting visual collages too. We don't have regular hours but you can always call for an appointment.

Yes, It is Possible to Visit Us at the Winery

We know we're not the easiest winery to schedule a visit with, because of our other jobs and frequent travel. But with enough notice, we can arrange tastings (and even barrel tastings) and we actually have real evidence now. Below is a picture of the Littlewoods from North Carolina who visited us on a recent weekend afternoon. Weekends are preferred, but sometimes a weekday works out. Send us an e-mail or call if you want to schedule an appointment.

Twelve is Now Available in Eugene, Oregon

The Midtown Wine Shop in Eugene is carrying our 2005 Pinot Noirs and the 2005 Pinot Blanc. If you're there, stop by and say hi to Tim. The 2005 Pinot Noir 144 is also available at the Oregon Wine Warehouse. Just talk to Bob.
