TASTING ROOM IS NOW OPEN!!!!
We now have a tasting room with regular hours. We're sharing a space with Honest Chocolates at 575-581 NE 3rd street in historic downtown McMinnville. Hours are Wed-Thu 11-6, Fri-Sat 11-7 and Sun 12-5. Come see us and try the 08s if you haven't had a chance.
Tasting Event - Memorial Day Weekend (and the Saturday before)
On Saturday and Sunday, May 29 and 30, we'll be pouring along with four other wineries at ADEA Wine Company in Gaston. Hours are 11-4. We'll be unveiling a couple of 2008s and pouring our 2007 reserve blends. It's become a tradition to open the weekend before the two big tasting weekends in Oregon, so on Saturday May 22, we'll also be pouring at ADEA.
We're Blogging (but no Twittering)
Finally took the plunge into Web 2.0 and started a blog. I'll be posting status on Twelve (harvest notes are posted) and hope to add other things, like interesting news, visits to restaurants, travel, and whatever else crosses my mind. Check it out here or click at the top of the page.
We Can Direct Ship to 37 States Now!!!
Twelve can now be shipped directly to customers in over 30 states. Please understand that the laws change almost daily on some of the states, so creating an absolutely accurate list is a bit difficult. This is a list of those we CAN'T ship to right now: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusettes, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Utah. If you'd like to order some wine, drop us an e-mail for a current price list. If you'd like to check on a state's status, there's a map here.
2006 Scores from Wine Advocate (Robert Parker)
We just saw our scores from the Wine Advocate news letter. Dr. Jay Miller does the Pinot Noirs. We were very pleased with how the 2006 Pinots did:
2006 Pinot Noir - 89 pts
2006 Pinot Noir 144 - 90 pts
2006 Pinot Noir Uh-Huh - 91 pts
2005 Twelve Pinot Noir 144 rated 90 pts by the Burghound
Our 2005 reserve bottling was reviewed by Allen Meadows in the latest edition of the famous Burghound newsletter. Allen is a renowned authority on Burgundy and all things Pinot.
Harvest Visitors
Two Bostonians, Kimberly and Grady, showed up right smack in the middle of crush and had the unique opportunity to taste wines in every possible state: macerating juice, midway throught fermentation, just fermented, and last year's vintage reserve blends in barrel. They even got to chew on the skins from the press. That's Kimberly watching the press getting emptied below along with Mac, one of the local puppies. Grady took the picture and I added one of their interesting visual collages too. We don't have regular hours but you can always call for an appointment.
Yes, It is Possible to Visit Us at the Winery
We know we're not the easiest winery to schedule a visit with, because of our other jobs and frequent travel. But with enough notice, we can arrange tastings (and even barrel tastings) and we actually have real evidence now. Below is a picture of the Littlewoods from North Carolina who visited us on a recent weekend afternoon. Weekends are preferred, but sometimes a weekday works out. Send us an e-mail or call if you want to schedule an appointment.
